Spa Cover Lifters

Buying Guide

A spa cover lifter makes removing and replacing your hardcover a one-person job. Without one, a full-size hardcover is awkward to handle and often ends up left on the ground where it collects dirt and moisture. A cover lifter keeps the cover off the ground and holds it clear of the water while you use the spa — making it easier to use the spa daily rather than treating the cover as a hassle.

Our Cover Lifter Range

We carry three models to suit different spa types and installation preferences:

Spa Cover Lifter (Standard)

The standard model attaches to the sides of your spa and supports the cover as it folds and lifts. Designed for regular square and rectangular spa pools. No more manually dragging the cover on and off — one person can handle it comfortably.

Spa Cover Lifter (Cabinet Mount)

Mounts directly to the spa cabinet rather than standing free. The cabinet-mount design keeps the lifter integrated with the spa itself, which is useful where space around the spa is limited. No more manually lifting off your spa cover or dragging it back on.

Swim Spa Cover Lifter

Designed specifically for swim spa covers, which are larger and heavier than standard spa covers. The swim spa model handles the additional size and weight of a 4m or 6m swim spa cover that would be impractical to manage manually on a daily basis.

Why a Cover Lifter Makes a Difference

Most spa owners who do not have a cover lifter end up leaving the cover on the ground beside the spa while they use it. A hardcover left on the ground picks up dirt, moisture, and debris on the underside. Over time this accelerates wear on the vinyl and foam and shortens the cover's lifespan. A cover lifter holds the cover in a parked position behind or to the side of the spa, keeping it clean and protected.

The other practical reason is daily use. If getting your cover on and off requires two people or significant effort, you use the spa less often. A cover lifter reduces the barrier to daily use down to a simple one-person action.

Compatibility

Our cover lifters are designed to work with our spa and swim spa range. The standard and cabinet-mount models are also compatible with most square and rectangular spa pools from other brands. The swim spa cover lifter suits most 4m and larger swim spa models.

If you are buying a cover lifter for a spa not purchased from Spas Wholesale, check the product specifications or call 1300 185 338 with your spa dimensions and we can advise on the right model.

Spa Cover Lifters FAQ

Is a cover lifter easy to install?

Yes. Installation involves attaching the lifter brackets to the spa cabinet using the included hardware. No specialist tools or trade installation required. Instructions are included with each model. Most installations take under an hour.

Do I need a different lifter for a swim spa?

Yes. Swim spa covers are larger and heavier than standard spa covers and require the swim spa-specific model. The standard and cabinet-mount lifters are designed for regular spa pool cover sizes.

Will a cover lifter fit my existing spa?

Our cover lifters are designed for our spa range and are compatible with most standard square and rectangular spa pools. Check the product page for specifications, or call 1300 185 338 with your spa model and cover dimensions to confirm compatibility before ordering.

Does a cover lifter damage the spa cover?

No. A cover lifter is designed to support the cover evenly as it lifts and folds, which actually reduces wear compared to manually dragging the cover on and off. Using a cover lifter correctly helps extend the life of your spa cover.

Can the cover lifter be used outdoors in Australian conditions?

Yes. Our cover lifters are designed for permanent outdoor installation. The hardware is built to handle Australian weather including UV exposure, rain, and temperature variation.
