Everything You Need to Know About Swim Spas in Australia

Direct Answer

A swim spa is a self-contained water system designed for stationary swimming, aquatic exercise, recreation and, depending on the model, spa-style seating. It uses a compact footprint compared with many traditional pools, but it still requires careful planning for access, foundation, electrical supply and ongoing service clearance.

Single-Zone vs Dual-Zone

Single-zone swim spas use one shared water body and temperature. Current examples include Amazon, Royal, Venice and Famous Swim.

Dual-zone swim spas separate the swim and spa areas so different temperatures can be used where supported. Current examples include Hydro Swim and Majestic Swim.

What Can a Swim Spa Be Used For?

• stationary resistance swimming
• water-based exercise and movement
• family recreation
• seated relaxation where the model includes spa-style seating
• separate warmer and cooler zones on applicable dual-zone models

A consumer swim spa is not a medical treatment. We do not present it as a treatment for cardiovascular conditions, injuries, pain or other health conditions.

What Size Should You Choose?

Current Spas Wholesale swim spas range from approximately 3.9m to 7.8m in published length. Shorter models can suit buyers prioritising footprint, while longer models provide a larger continuous swim format. Use the current Swim Spa Size Guide for model-by-model dimensions.

What Features Should You Compare?

• Published dimensions and depth
• Single-zone or dual-zone format
• Current swim-system and pump configuration
• Electrical requirements for the selected variant
• Insulation and cover
• Controls and materials only where the current model specification publishes them
• Delivery access and service clearance

Many current models publish USA Balboa controls, but we do not claim one control platform applies to every swim spa. See the Materials & Controls Evidence Guide.

Installation Planning

Confirm the supporting base, full delivery route, electrical requirements, drainage and service access before ordering. Hardwired electrical work must be completed by an appropriately licensed electrician. Specialist handling or crane placement may be required where normal access is unsuitable.

Maintenance

Water-care requirements depend on the sanitiser system, bather load, climate, water source and product instructions. There is no single drain interval or chemical dose that is correct for every swim spa. Follow the exact operating and chemical-product guidance.

Warranty, Stock & Support

Spas Wholesale swim spas are backed by a Lifetime Structural Warranty on frame structural integrity, with separate warranty periods and conditions for components. We support Australian customers through five warehouse locations in QLD, VIC, SA, NSW and WA. In-stock orders are dispatched within 48 business hours, excluding weekends and public holidays.
